  1. What’s a good way to respond to someone who says, “You know, I would really like to believe in God like you do, but I just can’t.”
    A good question to graciously ask is, “Are you serious? Would you REALLY like to believe in Him? Or are you just saying that because it seems like the right thing to say? If you’re serious, it turns out that God has given us lots of evidence for you to consider.” If they are willing to look at the evidence, you can send them a link to the Warriors of Christ playlist.
  2. What is the meaning of the word “debased” or “depraved” found in v. 28?
    The Greek word (???????? adokimos) means not genuine, not approved, not true, not honest. 
  3. What’s the implication of God giving people over to a debased mind?
    They’ve chosen a lie. They don’t like the truth. They have chosen self-deception. God says, “OK, if that’s what you want, you can have it. But I warn you, you won’t like the consequences.”
  4. What did God say through the prophet isaiah about people who reject God’s truth about right and wrong?
    Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!” (Isaiah 5:20)
  5. What do the words, “to do what ought not to be done” imply?
    Denying God’s truth leads to approving sinful behavior. 
  6. What did Jesus say about these kinds of people?
    “People loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.” (John 3:19-20)
  7. What did Peter write of these people?
    Scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires. (2 Peter 3:3)
  8. List some things from Romans 1:29-31 that rejecting God and His Truth will lead to.
    Unrighteousness, evil [wickedness], covetousness [greed], malice [desire to hurt others]. They are full of envy, murder, strife [they love to fight and to argue] , deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, 30  slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31  foolish, faithless [not trustworthy], heartless [cruel], ruthless [merciless]. 
  9. What does God say these people really know, deep inside?
    They know there is a God. And they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die.
  10. So how and why do they continue in sin?
    They enjoy it. They have others to tell them it’s ok. They tell others it’s OK. They try to shut up the mouths of those who disagree with them. They ridicule and call Christians ugly names like hypocrite, bigot, homophobe
  11. What is the great danger Paul warns all Christians of in the beginning of Romans 2?
    Self-righteousness. Pointing the finger at others when we have still not dealt honestly with all the sin in our own lives. We ALL need God’s mercy, grace, and forgiveness.
