The Helmet of Salvation

In 1 Thessalonians 5:8, the helmet is said to be “the hope of salvation.” Remember, the word “hope” in the Bible refers to a certain expectation of a future blessing. To be effective spiritual warriors, we need to have the absolute assurance that no matter what happens between now and then, our salvation is secure in Jesus. We can have assurance of a wonderful outcome in the end. In this way, God’s helmet enables us to keep our hope strong, even in the middle of painfully difficult trials.
