    Far northern Israel, 20-30 miles north of Capernaum/Sea of Galilee, near the base of Mt. Hermon.
  2. What was significant about Caesarea Philippi?
    Grotto with Gushing spring, called “Gates of Hell.” Lots of pagan worship, especially Greek god Pan.  Also on the road to Damascus. Paul may have been near here when he was converted.

    They claim to believe that He knows what’s best, what will bring them joy and fulfilment, will give them eternal life, but reject all that
  10. Why do people often claim that position?
    They’re really afraid He will mess up their lives. Make them give up the sin that they think gives them more Joy than Jesus would.
  11. What is an analogy to this position involving physical disease?
    Refusing to follow a doctor’s instructions for healing, using a quack treatment.
  12. What types of people claim to believe that Jesus really did rise from the dead, but they don’t believe that He is God?
    Heretics, cults (JW’s, Mormons, etc.)
  13. How is that belief not really rational?
    They claim to believe the Bible, but reject what the Bible says about His deity
  14. Do you know any verses that teach that Jesus is God?
    John 1:1-14–”The Word was God”, Hebrews 1:8–”Your throne, O God, is forever”, John 10:30-33–I and the Father are one, they tried to stone Him, Romans 9:5–”Christ, who is God over all”, Col 2:9–”In Him dwells the whole fullness of Deity”, Titus 2:13–Our Great God and Savior, Jesus Christ
