- Give the logical steps that Paul uses to explain his eagerness to share the gospel in Rome.
Paul was eager to preach the gospel in Rome… BECAUSE He is not ashamed of it… BECAUSE It is powerful… BECAUSE By faith, it brings to us the gift of righteousness that saves us… BECAUSE God’s wrath is against all unrighteousness - What is a possible implication of the words, “from faith to faith?”
From new birth faith to dying faith. From initial salvation faith to walking and living faith. - When some skeptics complain about the “hiddenness” of God, what are they likely wanting to see as evidence for God?
Tricks (e.g., sky-writing, giant angels, etc.) - Who asked Jesus to do “tricks” in the New Testament?
Unbelieving Jews, Herod, Scribes and Pharisees - What is a good answer to those who claim that they would believe in God if He just gave them some evidence?
“his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made.” (cf. molecular biology, 2nd law of thermodynamics, fine tuning of the universe veritas videos) - So why do so many refuse to accept the plain evidence?
They don’t want God to exist. They don’t want to be accountable to Him. They want to try to be able to sin without feeling guilty or that there will be a consequence. - How do some answer when you offer the evidence?
“Oh, well… maybe atheistic science cannot explain it all yet. But we will someday!” They appeal to science of the gaps. - What does God call people who try to ignore Him?
Fools - Why is it so easy for kids to accept the reality of God?
They know intuitively that anything that starts to exist had to have a cause. - How do supposedly sophisticated, highly educated people convince themselves that there is no God?
They trust other highly educated fools that have come to the same conclusion and who assure them that there is no God, simply because they don’t want Him to exist. - What does God mean when he says these people have become “futile in their thinking.”
It means useless, without purpose, empty, meaningless….Their thinking has become muddled, confused and meaningless.
