- Why is it so important to make sure all our defensive armor is in place before we use the sword?
- Satan has weapons too. If we neglect the defensive armor, we will be easy prey for him to discourage.
- Why do some people choose not to try to use the sword?
- They are afraid of appearing to be silly
- They think there may not be any demons who will hear them
- Why is it foolish to not ever use the sword?
- The enemy will wait around patiently for a crack in our defensive armor, instead of having to leave.
- When would be a good time to use the sword?
- Whenever we suspect that there might be some satanic/demonic activity going on.
- What if we are wrong and no demons are involved?
- There is always a good possibility that demons are involved and we just don’t realize it
- In any case, rehearsing these scriptures in God’s presence is good for our spiritual growth
- There is a worse outcome if demons ARE working and we refuse to do battle than if we do battle and they are NOT working
- When and how did Jesus set an example for us?
- Just after His baptism he was tempted by Satan in the wilderness. Jesus spoke directly to Satan and quoted the Scriptures. (Matthew 4)
- What did Adrian Rogers say to people who might accuse him of “praying to Satan” when Adrian spoke directly to Satan?
- “Are you praying to a cat when you say, ‘Scat?’”
