2 Samuel 22-23 The Sweet Psalmist of Israel

In this study:

In 2 Samuel 22 & 23 God highlights one of the Psalms most precious to David himself, also the final Psalm God gave him, and a glimpse into the relationship David had with his mighty men.

  • What is one of the best ways to begin communication with God?
  • What is the significance of recognizing God as our “Rock?”
  • How did God add to that image when Moses was leading the Israelites through the wilderness?
  • How did the Spirit, through Paul, illuminate that phenomenon in the New Testament?
  • What other metaphors does God use to emphasize His protection of us?
  • What does God want us to realize when we cry out to Him?
  • When we cry out to God, what does He want us to leave in His hands?
  • What does God reveal about His wrath in the Old Testament? in the New Testament?
  • How does God want us to recognize and deal with subtle pride that can creep into our lives?
  • How do we know that God expects us to engage in offensive as well as defensive warfare? What are some ways we can do that?
  • What is the significance of God’s choice to tell us about David’s mighty men?

Stay in the battle!
