When Jesus, early in His ministry, read this passage in the synagogue at Nazareth, He concluded by saying, in essence, “I am the fulfillment of this prophecy.” Through Jesus, all our mourning, grief, pain, heaviness, and ashes will be exchanged for joy, praise, and beauty!
