Hebrews 12:01-13 Run the Race–RUN!

Hebrews 12:1 is one of the most important verses in the Bible! All of Hebrews, chapters 1 through 11, point us to this verse.

The saints in the “great cloud of witnesses” of chapter 11 are not watching us, they are speaking to us. When we hear their testimony and fix our eyes on Jesus, we can learn to run the race well.

There is great danger in making the assumption that our dead loved ones are watching us and of trying to communicate with them.

It is important that we set aside some serious time for self-examination in the presence of God to make sure we are running the race well and that we are indeed laying aside sin and weights that will hinder our race.

It is important to understand discipline as training, not as punishment. God uses even Satan and ungodly men to discipline His kids.

We must learn the importance of disciplining our kids and grandkids–of bringing some pain into their lives now to avoid far more serious pain later on.
